Advancing dialogue, tolerance and understanding across Europe and beyond.
Discover Our WorkMission
EIFRF works to ensure that every person can hold, practise, and change their beliefs — whether religious or non-religious — without fear of persecution or discrimination. We bring together civil society voices to engage with European institutions and advocate for strong legal standards on freedom of religion or belief.
About
Founded to bridge the gap between civil society and European institutions, EIFRF monitors legislative developments, publishes legal analyses, and coordinates advocacy across European capitals. Our members include faith communities, human rights organisations, and academic institutions united by a commitment to Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Our Work
We engage directly with the European Parliament, Council of Europe, and OSCE to defend and strengthen legal protections for freedom of religion or belief.
Our legal analyses, country reports, and policy briefs provide a rigorous evidence base for dialogue with institutions and civil society partners.
We facilitate structured dialogue between religious communities, secular organisations, and governments to foster mutual understanding and shared solutions.
